The piano is an Earth keyboard-based musical instrument used in many styles of compositions, played by pressing keys while sitting on a stool or bench.
Benny Russell had a piano in his apartment in Harlem in the 1950s. (DS9: "Far Beyond the Stars")
Hoshi Sato's mother always wanted Hoshi to take piano lessons. She would later regret not listening to her mother at a time during the Xindi incident when it seemed as if Enterprise might not make it back to Earth. (ENT: "Damage")
Nella Daren played piano and played with Captain Picard several times while stationed on the USS Enterprise-D. (TNG: "Lessons")
Benjamin Sisko would often play the piano located in his families' restaurant. (DS9: "Image in the Sand", "Shadows and Symbols")
In the Bashir 62, holoprogram, Vic Fontaine's piano player leaves for Reno after winning at craps. (DS9: "His Way")
Vic's Las Vegas Lounge also had a player piano. This enabled Odo to look as if he knew how to play when he came to Vic for advice in attracting Kira Nerys. (DS9: "His Way")
The Doctor played the piano while observing Seven of Nine having a date with Lieutenant Chapman. He later played "Someone to Watch over Me" on the piano. (VOY: "Someone to Watch Over Me")
