A plague is an outbreak of an infectious disease that affects people over an extensive geographical area, otherwise known as a pandemic. There are also specific infectious diseases that are given the name plague.

Some examples of such diseases include the following:

Telurian plague (ENT: "Cold Station 12") and (TNG: "A Matter of Time")

Terrellian plague (ENT: "Singularity") and (VOY: "Message in a Bottle")

Dramian Auroral plague (TAS: "Albatross")

Phyrox plague (TNG: "Allegiance")

Plasma plague (TNG: "The Child")

Rudellian plague (DS9: "Rules of Engagement")

Teplan blight (DS9: "The Quickening")
