A police record or criminal record is a general term for a compiled database that includes a record of crimes, reported by police or security officers, that an individual has committed or has been accused of committing. These are also sometimes known as security files.

The Federation had an extensive police record on Harry Mudd. (TOS: "Mudd's Women", "I, Mudd"; TAS: "Mudd's Passion")

The security officer aboard Deep Space 9 kept track of criminal activies aboard the space station known as criminal activity reports. (DS9: "Heart of Stone", et al)

Such information is presumably added to the police records of individuals found on these reports.
