- Gameforge, the company behind the upcoming Star Trek: Infinite Space today released more infomation on the game set to include the Galaxy-class Federation starship and the Klingon Bird of Prey. The online, browser-based game, is due for release in summer 2011. [1]

- Visual effects artist Grant McCune, who earned an Oscar nomination as miniature supervisor on Star Trek: The Motion Picture, has died at the age of 67. McCune, perhaps best known for his Oscar-winning model work on Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, died of pancreatic cancer on Monday, 27 December 2010, at his home in Hidden Hills, California. [2] He was a partner at Apogee, Inc. for over a decade before forming his own studio, Grant McCune Design. His film work also includes Jaws, Caddyshack, Die Hard, Speed, Spider-Man, and Serenity.
