A positronic conductor was a component in the quantum beacons constructed by the crew of the Enterprise NX-01 in 2152. The engineering expertise necessary to construct these devices was beyond Starfleet's capability at the time, and was supplied to Jonathan Archer by Daniels. By generating a stable flux between the positronic conductors and renormalizing the tertiary wave functions, the sub-assembly tolerances were isolated from the emitter algorithms. (ENT: "Shockwave")
