Dreadnought attacks

Dreadnought attacks a flight of Rakosan fighters.

The Rakosan fighters were a type of light defensive warship fielded by the government of Rakosa V in the 2370s. These small, one-man fighters were equipped only with a single particle beam weapon, and no torpedoes at all.

The Rakosans proved no match for the Cardassian-built missile Dreadnought, when it mistakenly attacked the system in 2372. The automated warship's plasma spread destroyed three fighters in the first volley, and its deflector shields protected it from all the damage the Rakosans could dish out. (VOY: "Dreadnought")

The model of the Rakosan fighter was later used much more prominently as the Talaxian fighter in "Basics, Part I".
