Relay Station 47, also known as Subspace Network Relay Station 047, was a Federation Relay Station 47-type communication relay station that was in service with Starfleet during the mid-24th century. This station was located in Sector Ipai, in close proximity to Starbase 212, Relay Station 194, along the Federation-Klingon border.

It had a standard crew complement of two Starfleet officers and was equipped with one shuttlecraft, the Verne. (TNG: "Aquiel")

History

In 2257, the relay station's location in the Beta Quadrant was labeled on the star chart showing the trajectory of Lieutenant Spock's shuttle. (DIS: "An Obol for Charon")

Lieutenant Aquiel Uhnari transferred to the station in late 2368.

On stardate 46455, 2369, Lieutenant Keith Rocha reported for duty at Relay Station 47. As soon as Rocha transferred to the station, Rocha and junior officer, Lt. Uhnari, experienced a great deal of personality conflict. Lt. Uhnari found him "rude, arrogant, and condescending" toward her.

On stardate 46458.3, the two completed their primary system overhaul after they configured the relay controller grid. The following three days were designated for recalibrating and aligning the antenna systems.

On stardate 46460, Lt. Rocha wrote in his personal log that he planned to request a formal hearing against Lt. Uhnari, citing her for belligerence and insubordination.

In addition, Klingon Commander Morag routinely harassed the station – even locking his ship's weapons on the relay on at least one occasion.

On stardate 46461.3, the USS Enterprise-D investigated the mysterious disappearance of its crew. When Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge boarded the station, the only lifeform he found was Lt. Uhnari's pet dog Maura. Evidence of foul play was also found. (TNG: "Aquiel")

A graphic of Relay Station 47 was stored in USS Defiant's library computer, and appeared on the ship's bridge in 2374 and 2375. (DS9: "Favor the Bold", "Sacrifice of Angels", "What You Leave Behind")

The station's computer voice was provided by Majel Barrett.
