Template:Disambiguate1 Rhode Island was a state in the North American continent of the planet Earth, formerly the smallest state in the USA.

In 2152, Jonathan Archer referenced Rhode Island when he attempted to teach Trip Tucker how to play the game Geography. Archer explained the game by giving the example: "You say Amazon River which ends in an "R" and then I say Rhode Island." (ENT: "Desert Crossing")

In a scene deleted from "Fight or Flight", Ensign Travis Mayweather also referenced Rhode Island in a similar game he played with Archer. Mayweather and Archer actually used the same locations as Tucker and Archer later.
The USS Rhode Island was named after the state, as was a WWI-era US battleship.
