Rigel V

Rigel V was the fifth planet in the Rigel planetary system. This inhabited planet was the homeworld for the Rigelians. This species had a similiar physiology to the Vulcans. Though, Rigelians were believed to have four or five genders, according to information obtained by Doctor Phlox. (TOS: "Journey to Babel"; ENT: "Cogenitor")

In early 2155, the Rigelians participated in talks discussing their wish to join as a possible member in the Coalition of Planets along with Humans, Tellarites, Andorians, Coridans and Vulcans. (ENT: "Demons", "Terra Prime")

"The Explored Galaxy"

This chart was first seen chronologically in 2293. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country) This chart was also seen in several Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episodes set in the 24th century, from the year 2364 to 2370. These were: TNG: "Conspiracy", "The Measure Of A Man", "The Emissary", "The Mind's Eye", "The Game" and DS9: "In the Hands of the Prophets", "Cardassians".

Rigel V (or Beta Rigel V) was a M-class planet. Rigel V was a member planet of the United Rigel Colonies and the United Federation of Planets. Rigel V was admitted, along with the United Rigel Colonies, to the Federation in 2202. (pgs. 52, 59, "United Federation of Planets I")

Worlds of the Federation

According to Worlds of the Federation (page 36), Rigel V became a Federation member in 2184.
