Robert Fortier (November 5, 1926 – January 1, 2005) was an actor who played Tomar in TOS: "By Any Other Name".
Fortier had previously co-starred with TOS actor William Shatner (James T. Kirk) in the 1965 horror movie, Incubus. He also appeared in many films from director Robert Altman, including McCabe & Mrs. Miller with Rene Auberjonois (Odo from DS9) and John Schuck, Popeye with Richard Libertini, and O.C. and Stiggs. The latter two films also featured both Ray Walston (Boothby on TNG and VOY) and Paul Dooley (Enabran Tain on DS9), the latter of whom also co-starred with Fortier in Altman's Health, along with Alfre Woodard and Henry Gibson. Fortier's largest role was in Altman's 1977 drama 3 Women, also featuring Dennis Christopher.
Besides his stint on TOS, he has made appearances on several other television shows, including Combat!, The Outer Limits, and Gunsmoke.
