Robert Goddard

Robert H. Goddard was a Human of the early 20th century. He was a rocketry pioneer, and, in 1926, launched the first liquid propelled rocket. His accomplishment was considered vital to the birth of the space age in 1957. (TNG: "Loud As A Whisper", okudagram)

In the 24th century, the Federation honored the man by naming the starship USS Goddard and the shuttlecraft Goddard after him. (TNG: "The Vengeance Factor", "The Next Phase", "Relics")

Prior to the release of Season 2 on Blu-ray, information on Robert H. Goddard was in text that was illegible. The source for the information on this man was from Pioneer: First to Jupiter, Saturn, and Beyond (NASA Publication SP-446, 1980).
