Robert the Bruce was a King of Scotland who lived in the late thirteenth to early fourteenth centuries.
Montgomery Scott sarcastically mentioned him along with Louis XIV before Abraham Lincoln was beamed aboard the Enterprise. Captain Kirk overheard him and said that if Bruce or Louis XIV were beamed aboard the Enterprise crew would render appropriate honors. (TOS: "The Savage Curtain")
