Rolland M. Brooks (17 December 190724 September 1998; age 90), his first name often misspelled as "Roland", worked as art director in Star Trek: The Original Series, beginning with the second pilot, TOS: "Where No Man Has Gone Before". He shared duties with Walter M. Jefferies during the first and early second season, however he left the series after "Amok Time", leaving Jefferies alone in the position.

Career outside Star Trek

During his 12-year career as art director, Brooks mostly worked on television projects, including series such as The Andy Griffith Show, The Untouchables, Ben Casey, Mission: Impossible (also made by Desilu), Hogan's Heroes and The Lucy Show. The last project he worked on was the 1973 TV movie The Bait, featuring Don Keefer.
