Background Information
Rome is named after the legendary figure Romulus, who along with his brother Remus were nursed by a she wolf as infants. According to Roman legends, Romulus and Remus went on to found the city of Rome. Romulus became the first king after killing his brother. These names were adopted by the screenwriters for the home planets of the Romulan Star Empire.
