SD-103 at spacedock
The SD-103 type was a class of shuttlecraft to which the shuttle SD-103 belonged. Used by Starfleet and the Federation in the 23rd and 24th centuries, this shuttle was known to be used for orbital personnel transport.
SD-103 was in use by the Federation in 2293, but a later shuttle of this type was in Starfleet use, assigned to the USS Farragut. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country; Star Trek Generations)
During the interim between the two appearances of this shuttlecraft type, the model was altered to appear as the Template:ShipClass on TNG and DS9.
The purpose of the SD-103 shuttle was specified in the script of Star Trek VI, the only production in which that specific shuttle appears.
A third unnamed shuttle was added to the Starfleet Drydock model, first used in Star Trek: The Motion Picture, for Star Trek: Generations. This model was too small to be seen in the movie, and can be only seen in a picture taken of the drydock. [[1]]
