The SS Santa Maria (BDR-529) was an Erewon-class personnel transport en route to colonize Gemulon V around 2360. The ship developed life support problems and landed on on a planet in the Orellius system for repairs. Once the ship landed, all of its systems failed, due to a duonetic field and the ships passengers and crew have been stuck there since. Stripped of all technology, it was used as living quarters for the colonists, who affectionately renamed it "the cabin".
