Sandra Smith (born 27 June 1940; age 83) is an actress from Minneapolis, Minnesota, who played Dr. Janice Lester and Captain James T. Kirk in the final episode of Star Trek: The Original Series, "Turnabout Intruder". Prior to the feature film Star Trek, she was the only actor/actress besides William Shatner to ever play Captain Kirk on Star Trek.
Outside of Star Trek, Smith is best known for her role as Julie Conrad Bauer on the soap opera Guiding Light from 1962 through 1965. Afterward, she acquired a recurring role on the short-lived series Our Private World, during which she co-starred with fellow Trek alumni Nicholas Coster, Michael Strong, and Kenneth Tobey.
