Sarjeno was a Bajoran who lived on Bajor, whose parents were killed during the Bajoran Occupation. Sarjeno and her brother, Koran, and sister, Mardah, were raised by their neighbors thereafter.
Sarjeno was not exactly thrilled about Mardah's decision to become a dabo girl. Mardah, in turn, would tell Sarjeno what she thought of her life and the two had since stopped speaking, as of 2371. (DS9: "The Abandoned")
