Hoshi's Father was contacted by Archer when he believed that Hoshi had been killed in a transporter accident. At first the father did not understand what Archer was trying to tell him, as Archer was trying to break the news of her dead in a delicate manner. When the father realized that his daughter was dead, he told Archer to call him back, as he had to speak to his wife. In reality this was part of a dreams experienced by HOshi who was trapped about 8 seconds in the pattern buffer because of a storm. (ENT: Vanishing Point)
