AT: "xx" Sector 001 or Sol Sector was a region of space. This was the central sector of the United Federation of Planets in which the Sol system and 40 Eridani A were located. Sol, the primary of the Sol system, was at the border of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants; however, this star was identified as an Alpha Quadrant star. (TNG: "The Best of Both Worlds"; DS9: "Emissary"; VOY: "Endgame"; TNG: "The Wounded", "Night Terrors" dedication plaques; Star Trek: Insurrection, Star Trek: Voyager, Season 7 production art [1])

In the 24th century, the 40 Eridani A Starfleet Construction Yards were located in this sector. (TNG: "The Wounded", "Night Terrors" dedication plaques)

Data examined the Starbase ops status of the Sol Sector in late 2364, finding proof for a conspiracy amongst the highest ranks of Starfleet Command. (TNG: "Conspiracy", okudagram)

In 2369, this sector was named on the chart Sector Ipai Relay Log - Relay Message Flow 1293 in Relay Station 47 Ops. The USS Zhukov was in this sector around the same time that the USS Enterprise-D visited Relay Station 47. (TNG: "Aquiel", production art)

In 2371, a microscopic singularity passed through Sector 001 and exploded. This created the conditions for an accident that sent Benjamin Sisko, Jadzia Dax and Julian Bashir back in time to the year 2024. (DS9: "Past Tense, Part I")

In 2372, Julian Bashir gave Nog a PADD containing a guide for life on Earth as a going-away present. (DS9: "Little Green Men")

The Battle of Sector 001 between the Federation and the Borg occurred in this sector in 2373. (Star Trek: First Contact)

Points of Interest

Sector 001 was mentioned in a collection of graphics and video media that were seen on a powerwall in the office of Admiral Alexander Marcus at Starfleet Headquarters. This version of the powerwall was from a deleted scene from Star Trek Into Darkness.[2]
On the PADD Julian Bashir gave to Nog, the letter "a" in "Earth" was substituted with the Starfleet Academy logo.
This sector might be located in both the Alpha and Beta quadrants, based on the real world location of 40 Eridani.
