Sector 30 was a region of Federation-controlled space located near the Romulan Neutral Zone.
In 2364, five Federation outposts in this sector, including Science Station Delta-05, were destroyed by a then unknown enemy. (TNG: "The Neutral Zone") It was believed that the Borg were responsible for their destruction. (TNG: "Q Who")
In 2366, Admiral Haden placed this sector on alert during the Nelvana III incident. (TNG: "The Defector")
Later that year, trader Kivas Fajo sabotaged the water supply on the Federation planet Beta Agni II. He would be later tried in a Federation court for this act of vandalism. (TNG: "The Most Toys")
