The security office was where Constable Odo spent much of his workday. One must pass through the security office to reach Deep Space 9's brig. (DS9: "Emissary")

In 2369 the security office was vandalized by a group of Bajorans who believed that Odo was guilty of murdering the Bajoran criminal Ibudan. They've damaged the computer terminals, the table, and the chairs and painted "shifter" in black letters on the wall. Later Odo used the security office as a hiding place when the angry mob followed him over the promenade. Several security guards were posted outside the doors. (DS9: "A Man Alone")

The same year the security office was again the aim of a vandalizing act. This time its entrance was destroyed by a high energy weapon from the lead Hunter when he tried to find a Tosk in a holding cell. (DS9: "Captive Pursuit")

The entrance of the security office was blocked by the Miradorn Ah-Kel and his crew after his twin brother Ro-Kel was murdered by the Rakhari Croden. Odo, who imprisoned Croden, was able to solve the problem. (DS9: "Vortex")

The security office had a side entrance, reachable from the promenade. In 2369 Nog was using this side entrance to break into the security office. The he opened the main entrance and Jake Sisko and Varis Sul went in. INside the office Nog used a replicator to replicate oatmeal and filled Odo's bucket with it. Then he made a joke and dumped the oatmeal over Jake's clothes, letting Jake believe this was Odo. (DS9: "The Storyteller")

The security office also featured a wall panel with a list of wanted posters, showing several criminals. (DS9: "Vortex", "If Wishes Were Horses", "The Forsaken", "Dramatis Personae", "Duet", and more)
