Seltin Rakal was the leader of the inhabitants of Meridian. Like the rest of her people, she existed in a state of incorporealism for sixty years at a time.
In 2371, she disapproved of Deral's decision to leave the planet to be with Jadzia Dax, but welcomed Dax when she chose to stay with the Meridians when they became incorporeal instead. Rakal had earlier welcomed Dax, Benjamin Sisko, Julian Bashir and Miles O'Brien to the First Meal. (DS9: "Meridian")
Seltin Rakal was played by Christine Healy.
