Warhead torpedo

Warhead torpedo

A warhead is a highly advanced torpedo which was designed by the Druoda a Delta Quadrant species.

The latest version is the series V which is a long range tactical armoured unit just over one meter long meant for mass destruction. It is powered by a condensed energy matrix which by itself can power a fleet of starships. In stead of a normal computer core it uses artificial intelligence which is capable of making decisions about its course and when or if countermeasures are necessary when someone is trying to tamper with it. Bio-neural circuitry is used to mimic humanoid synaptic functions and for its communication it uses a modulated duotronic algorithm.

The weapon is warp capable and has a maximum range of eighty light-years. It protects itself by using parametric shielding. Via sensors it can detect where it is or when someone is trying to tamper with it.

The explosive yield of the torpedo consist of a highly focused anti-matter explosion which will result in a blast radius of twohunderd kilometres.

The weapon is programmed with a targeting threshold of two lightyears. Which means that whenever it is within two lightyears of its target the weapon cannot be disarmed or diverted not even with the correct command codes.

It has a class eleven artificial intelligence programmed to take every measure to ensure that it will reach its target. When seperated from is explosive componentes and reprogrammed it even can be used to regulate a planets weathergrid or can even be used for terra forming purposes. (A class eleven intelligence is considered an artificial lifeform)

Although the weapon seems invincible the detonation sequence can be stopped by routing a EM puls through its power matrix.

In day-to-day operations these torpedoes are controlled by a Strategic Command Matrix. Via this matrix the command to launch or abort missions can be send to the weapon.

The name of the torpedo is not mentioned in the episode but because of the title of the episode the name "warhead torpedo" seems appropriate. Althoug the name LRTAU (Long Range Tactical Armoured Unit) crossed my mind. But if you know a better name...
