The Sky spirits are a group of aliens from the Delta Quadrant. They are pale-skinned humanoids with ridges above the nose and eyes. They have advanced warp drive, cloaking and weather technology but maintain a deep affinity with the land.
In the distant past they used generational ships to travel to Earth where they genetically altered a group of primitive humans. These inheritors carried a similar affinity to the land as the spirits and spread acorss the globe, giving rise to the Native American and Amazonian peoples of the [[North America|North] and South American continents.
The spirits returned periodically but found no trace of the inheritors on their last visit.
In fact the inheritors were still present but much reduced in number. One of their tribes was discovered in the early 24th century.
The spirits were encountered on their native planet Commander Chakotay of the USS Voyager in 2372. (VGR: "Tattoo")
