Slaver weapon

The Slaver weapon was a powerful weapon that had seven different settings. It was rediscovered in 2269 when it was found in a stasis box of the Slavers among with some poisoned meat and a picture.

Lieutenant Sulu speculated that the weapon once belonged to a spy, due to the fact that it had so many specialized settings.

Although the specifics of the weapons' function were unknown, it was observed to feature a communicator (or sonic stunner), a telescope, a laser, a personal rocket motor, an energy absorber, a computer, and a matter-to-energy converter.

Although the weapon was old when it was discovered, the matter-to-energy converter was more advanced than the Federation technology of the 23rd century. (TAS: "The Slaver Weapon")

Like many elements from The Slaver Weapon episode, the slaver weapon was a prior invention of science fiction author Larry Niven and appears in his other works.
