Soil reclamators were devices developed by the Bajoran Agricultural Ministry and used to remove poison and other toxins from soil in order to allow farmers to grow crops and make the land more hospitable.

In 2371, Winn Adami, who was both the Kai and the Acting First Minister of Bajor, wanted to use a number of soil reclamators to cleanse key areas of Bajor for agriculture, to grow crops for export. However, Shakaar Edon and two other members of the Shakaar resistance cell had been promised a longer use of the reclamators and were unwilling to give them up, resulting in a province-wide arrest warrant being issued by the Bajoran civil police.
