The Solanagen-based lifeform was a type of entity whose molecular structure allows them to exist only within subspace, Solanagen-based lifeforms were able to create a pocket of their space inside our own following an alteration to the sensor array and main deflector onboard the Enterprise-D in 2369, stardate 46154.2. The lifeforms abducted various members of the crew while they slept, for use in a variety of strange experiments. One such abductee was Commander Riker, whose arm was discovered to have been severed and then reattached during one such abduction.
