Solosos III was the inhabited third planet in its star system. This planet was located in the Demilitarized Zone and the site of a Maquis colony.

In 2373, Captain Benjamin Sisko ordered the USS Defiant to fire two quantum torpedoes with a 400 kilogram payload of trilithium resin into the atmosphere of Solosos III, rendering it uninhabitable to Humans for the following fifty years. His actions were designed to force Maquis leader Michael Eddington to surrender himself and the biogenic weapons he had been deploying against the Cardassians. The planet was subsequently settled by Cardassian refugees displaced from Veloz Prime and Quatal Prime. (DS9: "For the Uniform")

According to the script, the pronunciation for Solosos was "sow-LOW-soze". [1]
According to Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 47) and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"), Solosos III was located in the Solosos system. The system's primary was an A-class star.
The Star Trek Encyclopedia (4th ed., vol. 2, p. 296) classified Solosos III as a class M planet.
