Starfleet Medical Academy was the medical school associated with Starfleet Medical and Starfleet Academy. Students wishing to become doctors and nurses within Starfleet may apply to the Academy. All medical doctors and related staff who obtained degrees elsewhere within the Federation must also pass through orientation and certain preparatory classes at the Medical Academy before practicing medicine within the fleet.
