Starfleet Operations (also known as Fleet Operations, Fleet Ops, or Starfleet Ops) was an agency within Starfleet Command. This agency was one of the oldest with its origins dating back to the United Earth Starfleet. The agency was located in San Francisco, Earth, Sol Sector. (TNG: "Conspiracy", directory placard; ENT: "Affliction"; ENT: "Demons", directories)

History[]

22nd century[]

In November of 2154, when Doctor Phlox was kidnapped by Rigelians on Earth, Captain Jonathan Archer had Lieutenant Malcolm Reed check with Starfleet Operations to see if their satellites had picked up any transporter activity. (ENT: "Affliction")

23rd century[]

In the 2270s, Admiral James T. Kirk was Chief of Starfleet Operations. (Star Trek: The Motion Picture)

Starfleet Operations cleared the USS Enterprise for departure for its training cruise in 2285. (Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan)

Alternate Reality[]

In the 2260s of the alternate reality, information on this agency was located in the Federation database. (Star Trek Beyond)

This agency was mentioned in a list of Starfleet agencies, which appeared to the left of the personnel file for Balthazar Edison. [1]

24th century[]

In 2364, Fleet Ops determined that a particular sector could be more effectively monitored by remote sensor drones than a starbase. Soon after this determination, Starbase 245 ceased its monitoring. The data acquired by these drones was directly transmitted to Tactical Analysis Division. (TNG: "Conspiracy", okudagram)

In 2370, a schematic of Arctus Baran's mercenary vessel from this agency was displayed in the observation lounge aboard the USS Enterprise-D. (TNG: "Gambit, Part I")

Chiefs of Starfleet Operations[]

Admiral Bob in 2287, from Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, and Vice Admiral Leyton in 2372, from DS9: "Homefront", could hold this position, but it was never confirmed on screen.
