The Syrrannites were an organization of Vulcans who followed the teachings of Surak closely. They thought that the Vulcan culture at the time had become 'corrupt' and were not following the original teachings of Surak. The leader of the group, Arev, is rumored to have Surak's katra (Vulcan soul), and that he would lead the Vulcans back to Surak's original teachings. The main base that the Syrrannites live in is in a location of Vulcan called The Forge, in the middle of a Vulcan desert and where Surak is said to have conducted his journeys.
