The Taguans are a sentient species native to Tagus III, known for having a secretive and ancient history.
The Taguans evolved sentience approximately 2 billion years ago. Their ancient history is a highly sought after archeological topic, as the Taguan government has only allowed 974 expeditions in the past 22,000 years. In recent history however, the Taguans have let the Vulcans examine the site several times, but the Taguans sealed off their Planet to foreign visitors in the mid-23rd century. (TNG: "QPid")
The ancient Taguan written language is often compared to Marlonian, and shares some similarities to Buranian. (TNG: "Rascals")
