Takar, False profits

The Takarian homeworld

Takar was a region on a planet in the Delta Quadrant. The "Song of the Sages" originated from the inhabitants of Takar.

The two Ferengi, Arridor and Kol, crash landed in Takar in 2366 after passing through the Barzan wormhole. They then proceeded to exploit the local mythology for their own benefit, until they were removed by the USS Voyager in 2373. (VOY: "False Profits")

A verse in the Song of the Sages told of how sages coming to "the city" lifted Takar's hood, possibly suggesting that Takar was the name of the city.
