A Talaxian fur fly is a huge insect native to Talax. Amongst Talaxians, this fly's presence on a ship is considered a sign of good fortune.
A preserved fur fly hung in the engine room of Neelix' ship, the Baxial, for six years. Neelix later gave the fly to B'Elanna Torres after the construction of the quantum slipstream drive in 2375. (VOY: "Timeless")
