Dutch vs. American[]

I have used the correct Dutch spelling of Simon Van Gelder's name (with a lowercased 'van'). I understand the American spelling is with a capital V? -- Harry 04:15, 4 Dec 2003 (PST)

Yeah, stick with the proper Dutch spelling. The Dutch "van" is basically the same as the German "von" title, right? I've actually got an aunt who married a guy whose last name is Vander Linden... which I guess is an Americanization of "van der Linden"? (I've never really thought about that before, personally...) -- MinutiaeMan 08:50, 4 Dec 2003 (PST)

Yeah.. the Americans somehow glued those last names together. There are even names like Vanderberg, which probably was "van der Berg" originally. Not that I'm going to rewrite those names. They *are* American names. Although it's nice to imagine those Star Trek characters are actually Dutch ;) (Trivia: Westervliet (some TOS Admiral) also is a Dutch name). -- Harry 10:26, 4 Dec 2003 (PST)

If the intention was to correct the spelling, why does the article Simon Van Gelder exists now, and what about Vanderberg? shouldn't it be "van der Berg"? -- Kobi 22:39, 21 Dec 2004 (CET)

Question about order[]

Your order appears to have no logical system. I'd like to know how you get your Chronological order. Personally I believe that Star Trek Must have occurred in Production order. heck you have a season 2 Episode in this year surrounded by season 1 episodes. It means for 1 episode they changed panel design, then in the next reverted to the old style.

old removed order

In chronological order

Star Charts note[]

This was added today, and last I checked, the Star Charts were still a non-canon resource:

As such, I've removed this to here for discussion. -- sulfur (talk) 13:33, August 17, 2012 (UTC)
