Background info Edit

Satellites seem so common in the Star Trek universe that their absence was an indicator that the planet did not harbor a ]]warp capable]] civilization (for example, in "Strange New World", "Civilization", or "Time and Again"), or alternatively that a planet was only a minor outpost (for example in "The Shipment").

I think most of that is speculation. Remove?

Also, there are an awful lot of red links on this page. A project for someone? --LauraCC (talk) 18:30, June 19, 2015 (UTC)

I wrote that section, and iirc all the example come from pieces of dialog where a first scan is made of a planet, and through the absence of satellites as well as other signs it becomes clear what kind of planet we are dealing with: a primitive or underdeveloped one. I'd say that's enough for it to stay, especially since it's just a background note. Though I may be biased, of course :p -- Capricorn (talk) 19:11, June 19, 2015 (UTC)
I'm on the fence with this as it could be construed as original research since the piece of text is essentially your interpretation of something you have seen in various episodes and not something that was outwardly mentioned on-screen. --| TrekFan Open a channel 22:06, June 20, 2015 (UTC)
