Removed Fan Beliefs[]

* Many Star Trek fans and websites misinterpeted crusher's theoretical conversation about austrailia beliving they refused to join the earth goverment.

I removed this today. It's poorly written (first of all), but unless it has some meaningful citation, then it's somewhat irrelevant and meaningless. -- sulfur 02:06, March 15, 2010 (UTC)

I removed;

  • Crusher says that the telepathic implants are connected directly to the brainstem, but Lorin says that they are connected to the cerebral cortex. Given the localization of function in the Human brain, a telepathic implant in the cerebral cortex would be more intuitive. Interestingly, the superficial location of the implants would suggest connection to the brainstem, which would indeed be a prime spot for inducing nausea, as seen in the episode. This ambiguity in neuroanatomy technobabble continues a Star Trek tradition of referring to the brain as the cerebral cortex even though it is just one albeit very large area of the brain.

for being (somewhat snobby) opinion and nitpickery. -Angry Future Romulan 18:37, August 30, 2010 (UTC)

Geordi isn't the only one who doesn't appear in this episode. We don't see Data or Troi either. (I also think there may have been at least one other 7th season episode not to feature the entire regular cast.) Brian F. Sanford (talk) 05:39, September 27, 2017 (UTC)Brian
