THIS IS THE WROST ARTICLE I HAVE EVER SEEN. I AM SORRY THAT I HAVE TO BE SO HARSH BUT WHEN I SAW THAT THIS PAGE WAS REAL I CRIED LIKE A NEW BORN BABY.

Hence why it has a 'needs attention' tag. It's a work-in-progress. You can also help by contributing to it too. ;) - Enzo Aquarius 00:46, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
What constitutes an away mission? Are visits to Earth/Vulcan included? Is it any time someone leaves their ship or some other factor? --Defiant 14:26, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
I don't think shore leaves should count. Away missions (which require a team) usually are for some official reason (exploration, first contact, investigation), and not simply visiting (so trips to Risa don't count either). A good rule of thumb is when security tags along.--Tim Thomason 01:35, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

A "forumula" for an away team?[]

The nerd in me was wondering, if there is a "formula" ever stated for an away team? Like who goes, and the departments, etc... on a typical mission? I know that, typically, a First Officer will lead it, and I even see somewhere a second officer tends to go also, but is it said beyond that, or does it vary to the plot? --Terran Officer 07:07, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

I think it varies. In the ENT era, the captain usually went along on away teams. First contact situations would also probably involve the Communications officer, and common sense dictates that security personnel would come along as well.--CaptainErika 03:45, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
