A section of the USS Equinox article states that:
"the Equinox was on a short-range exploratory mission in an unknown system's asteroid belt when it mysteriously disappeared shortly after the vessel's commissioning."
Could I remove the section of this article that states:
"It was never made clear, but the USS Equinox may have also been abducted from the Badlands. (VGR: "Equinox, Part I")" Rebelstrike2005 07:33, 11 Apr 2005 (EDT)
- There are planets in the badlands so it is possible the unknown system was in the badlands. --Epochwolf 21:19, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
First/Last appearance of the Badlands?Edit
- They were first seen in DS9 as well, in "The Maquis, Part I", I think. But they didn't get the "fiery" image until Voyager's pilot. Is that right? -- Tacking Into the Wind 01:33, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
- To describe the different appearances of the Badlands (I'm looking at screencaps of all the different appearances right now):
In "The Maquis, Part I" they looked just like a very faint nebula with the regular stars in the background still visible.
In "For the Cause" they were still cloudy but no longer pink but brown/yellow.
More Badlands stuffEdit
There is also mention of the badlands in "Tunnel Through the Stars: The Dominion War, Book 3 (Star Trek: The Next Generation)" as titled by Amazon.
Summary of the badlands part:
The "Orb of Peace", a bajoran monastery ship, captained by Jean Luc Picard, ventures into cardassian space via the badlands, on a mission to destroy an artificial wormhole generator that the dominion were building and testing. En-route to Cardassian space, a saboteur in their midst forces them to look for supplies while in the badlands. They stumble across a graveyard of ships where there appears to be an unusual phase variance, making things appear and disappear as if there were ghosts. The crew encounters scavengers and agree to a trade of supplies in exchange for obtaining "artifacts" from the "ghosts". Geordi La-Forge discovers an artifact the scavengers consider extremely valuable and in the scavengers process of obtaining the artifact, they accidentally reanimate the graveyard of ships. The crystalline beings destroy the scavengers, both onboard and their ship, and the crew makes a narrow escape before the attacking ships "self destruct". An immediate return to the graveyard shows the graveyard as it was when they first arrived, with no signs of disturbance. Having obtained the necessary supplies, they move on. --220.127.116.11 21:42, 5 February 20076 (UTC)
