How to handle POV

I'm curious as to how to hand the POV on this. Technically -- based upon the 20th Century version of Calgary -- it is incorrect for Wesley to say he went skiing in Calgary since Calgary (as of the 1990s) did not include any mountains or major skihills (Canada Olympic Park doesn't count). So obviously this means that by 2368 the city has expanded to include Banff or at least Kananaskis (which based on its current growth I believe). How do we address this without messing up the POV? 68.145.238.33 04:47, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

We don't really need to. Memory Alpha is written from an in-universe POV, and there is not evidence that in the Star Trek universe, the city was not always larger than it is in the real world. If need be, a background note can be added, but it probably does not need speculation on expansion. --OuroborosCobra talk 04:50, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

It only took me a year to reply to this! I have expanded the article a little based upon what would have been known to the writers of the episode, which I think is in the spirit of the in-universe idea. 68.146.41.232 22:29, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

No, it isn't in the spirit of the "in-universe", as the writers and producers don't live in that universe. --OuroborosCobra talk 01:11, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
