Note on 1927 vs 1933[]

This note was just added:

There have been unconfirmed and unsubstantiated reports that place Winston's birthday in 1927.

The problem is that these "reports", as far as I can tell, are just edits on this article. These edits have been done with no source provided. In addition, these edits have all, as far as I can see, come from the same anon/IP address. I don't think we should add a note for this. All we have is one person making sourceless edits. In addition, this is something that I have seen on other articles both on MA and on Wikipedia (Leigh Taylor-Young, for instance, on both). I personally feel that this may be a formof light vandalism. I'm not saying that it is the case here, but it is a possibility. If a source is not provided soon, I am going to remove this note. --OuroborosCobra talk 17:07, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

And just like that, the note is gone, replaced with an invisible note telling people to provide a source before changing. I'm happy now. --OuroborosCobra talk 17:17, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

I've revisited my earlier tact, removed my note, and put a similar, yet nasty, one into a comment, hidden from the average reader :) -- Sulfur 17:18, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Dead?[]

According to the SAG/AFTRA magazine, special edition 2020, "John Winston" died on 19 September 2019. I cannot find any other source to say that this is Trek's John Winston. -- Tom (talk) 07:39, May 27, 2020 (UTC)

Curiously, checking Find A Grave there were about four John Winstons listed there that died in 2019, and there is one who died on that exact date, but he is clearly not the TOS John Winston (nor an actor). --Alan (talk) 12:34, May 27, 2020 (UTC)

The listing in the SAG/AFTRA magazine indicates that he was an actor. -- Tom (talk) 14:28, May 27, 2020 (UTC)

Great. --Alan (talk) 14:42, May 27, 2020 (UTC)
