Middle initial? Really?! I honestly think that using his middle initial in the namespace is verging on the ridiculous, unless there's a certain reason for it. In all likelihood, this should either be at "Joe Jennings" or "Joseph Jennings", but incorporating his middle initial seems like making the page harder to find than necessary. --Defiant 13:30, September 25, 2011 (UTC)

That's how he was credited. Should we have a redirect from the bare "Joseph Jennings"? Likely. But it's not ridiculous. At all. -- sulfur 13:40, September 25, 2011 (UTC)

Okay, thanks for clearing that up for me and letting me know the reasoning, sulfur. :) Should we still have Joe Jennings (Starfleet) where it is, then, since the "(Starfleet)" part perhaps seems a bit superfluous, as there's nothing to differentiate it from (other than a redirect). --Defiant 14:08, September 25, 2011 (UTC)

This guy was also credited as "Joe Jennings", so our practice has been to do what's been done in this situation. -- sulfur 14:11, September 25, 2011 (UTC)

But isn't it the name that's most commonly used that matters? If this guy has been credited as both "Joseph R. Jennings" and "Joe Jennings" (and there's many references calling him the latter while only a single credit as the former), doesn't it make more sense to use the latter, since it's what most people know him by and is therefore easier to find? --Defiant 14:34, September 25, 2011 (UTC)
