Is the reassociation taboo really an issue regarding Beverly? While it's not a romantic relationship, certainly there's been no taboo against successive hosts of the Dax symbiont "reassociating" with Benjamin Sisko. In fact, it serves the purpose of joining to be able to experience persons and relationships from different perspectives. I think the reassociation taboo is only between joined Trill, so that they don't focus on each other to the exclusion of all else. --Emperorkalan 01:58, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

- It may be speculated that the relatively recent and short nature of the romance between Odan and Crusher made it an exception to the taboo of reassocation. However it is more likely that it is due to the fact that the idea of reassociation, and Trill society in general, was not truly developed until the Deep Space 9 episode "Rejoined".
- It is also possible that due to being so recently joined, Kareel was simply under the influence of Odan's previous host, whose feelings for Beverly Crusher were still quite prevalant.
