I was just wondering why this character isn't listed as one of the Cheif Engineers of the Enterprise-D like this character, Logan
I guess in the non-canon world he was called a chief engineer, but there is no reference to him holding that position in the episode or script. He does answer when Picard calls for "Main Engineering," but he may have just been the shift commander on duty. The only thing that may indicate his position is his rank, higher than the confirmed (by script) Chief Engineer Logan from two episodes prior.--Tim Thomason 01:07, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
How did we know that he always announced himself by name? The Enterprise D originally had multiple chief engineers. RicoRichmond 16:52, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
There is nothing in the script that suggests Picard was annoyed at Commander Lynch. Until someone can cite evidence of this, I'm striking the comment in question. 22.214.171.124 22:26, April 23, 2011 (UTC)
- Picard appeared to be annoyed at him using his full name.--31dot 03:27, April 24, 2011 (UTC)
Dukes of Hazzard? Edit
Lynch using his full name is reminiscent of Roscoe P. Coltrane in 'The Dukes of Hazzard' Picard's grimace seems to be a nod to Boss Hogg. Is this deliberate?– The preceding unsigned comment was added by 126.96.36.199 (talk).
