No Bashir?

I don't recall specifically anything stating that Bashir wasn't going to be used as the template for the LMH as a result of his genetic engineering. But it's been a while since I've seen it. Can anyone substantiate this for me? -- THOR 19:09, 14 Mar 2005 (GMT)

This episode was just reaired today Oct 4th 2005 on the FX station in the Washington DC area: the episode was left vague as to the LMH, since Bashir's father reported himself BEFORE Zimmerman filed his report to Starfleet. However since Zimmerman created the Mark 2 EMH it could be concluded that he DID NOT create the LMH program
It's more likely that the LMH became the EMH Mk II. He did have free roam of the ship, and the ship was only on it's shakedown cruise; only a skeleton crew would be aboard.
LMH vs EMH MkII, MkIII, MkIV, etc.
Since Dr. Zimmerman had so much trouble convincing Starfleet of the EMH's merits and how many revisions he went through (LMH vs EMH MkII, MkII, MkIV, etc.), it is unlikely the LMH project was ever completed."Message in a Bottle", "Life Line" Advances made in the LMH program were most likely added to the later EMH programs. There isn't any canonical refence as to how the limitations of the EMH program were overcome (except "grafting" the diagnostic program onto the EMH, but that seems pretty simple and only like a stop-gap measure) "The Swarm".
In all likelihood, The Doctor's "fixed" time-limitation (and other unexplainable behavior) was due to the mobile emitter and enhanced reprogramming by Henry Starling he got in 1996, since it's hundreds of years more advanced than anything Starfleet has "Future's End" & "Future's End, Part II".--Mike Nobody 11:20, 5 Oct 2005 (UTC)
