Consortium: Is it canon?[]
As I recall, the Metrons did not identify the name of their polity. It is called the Metron Consortium (and is even assigned specific territory) in Mandel's Star Trek Star Charts, but I am not certain a book like this is accepted as canon. Comments? -- Balok 17:41, 28 Aug 2004 (CEST)

- It seems pretty implausible that the Metrons themselves would sell weapons like in "Business as Usual", since they were supposed to be isolationist and pacifist in "Arena". More likely some group of arms dealers just heard of the Metrons and how advanced they were and then decided to name their company after them. -- EtaPiscium 23:40, 22 Sep 2004 (CEST)
Consortium revisited[]
Am I right in thinking that the "Metron Consortium" was named as such only in DS9: "Business as Usual", and not in TOS: "Arena"? If so, the bits of this article referring to the events of "Arena" should be moved from the main text to "background", and any links to this page from articles like Cestus III and Carole Shelyne should be changed to link to Metron instead. As EtaPiscium suggests, it's only speculation that the arms dealers mentioned in DS9 have anything to do with the long-lived isolationists from "Arena". —Josiah Rowe 16:51, July 14, 2010 (UTC)
