Dogs of War[]

The DS9 episode "The Dogs of War" made a reference to economic monopolies. Would info on that not go here with a link to Monopoly (game)? -- Tacking Into the Wind 14:33, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

This is already a disambiguation page. Maybe you could make an article entitled "Monopoly (economics)", or something like that, and then put a reference in for that. Just a thought. Zsingaya Talk 16:24, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

I know I'm new to this, but should this page not be at Monopoly (disambiguation) and the economic form of monopoly be place here? -- Tacking Into the Wind 16:33, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

To make things a little more complicated: there's also "Total monopoly" as a hand of cards in Tongo, as per (DS9: "Change of Heart"):
He lays down the cards.
BASHIR
Full consortium.
QUARK
(lays down his cards)
Total monopoly.
He rakes in the whole pot and Bashir is just waking up
to the realization that he's lost everything.
(from the script of the episode) --Jörg 03:11, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

Can we move this page to Monopoly (disambiguation) then? -- Tacking Into the Wind 17:48, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

Will I? -- Tacking Into the Wind 01:06, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

Typically, a disambiguation page should be located at the title it disambiguates - in this case "monopoly", this page. "Title (disambiguation)" should only be used if one of the disambiguation targets is much more common then all the others, but I don't see that in this case. So, keep the disambiguation here, but add all the other articles to it. -- Cid Highwind 10:32, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
If we did like Monopoly at Wikipedia we could give the general definition, which also essentially covers the two references above and the premise of the games. Otherwise we might wish to go with economic monopoly, total monopoly and the games, either way, I don't see a need for monopoly (disambiguation) unless we are looking for some sort of last resort, or if we decide to lump economic and total under a "main" monopoly entry and monopoly (game) as a diambiguation for the games. --Alan del Beccio 11:01, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

Deluxe Version[]

  • There was also presumably a "Deluxe" version of the Star Trek Limited Edition Monopoly jointly produced by USAopoly and Franklin Mint, but little information exists on this set, and even less proof exists that it was actually produced.

This note could use that "little information exists" part otherwise it's worthless. — Morder 21:52, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
