Has anyone noticed that Neral hasn't aged very well, has he? If I were a guessing man, I'd say he was about as old as Riker was in "Unification II", but in "Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges", he looks older than Spock did! - Yeah. His card in the Star Trek CCG joked about this by saying he "has not aged well under the burden of leadership". The two actors don't look ANYTHING alike, do they? I remember an FAQ I read about this episode somewhere asked why they didn't bring bring back Norman Large as Neral for "Inter Arma..." (It can't be because they didn't like him since they've cast him in a few other roles since). One of the producers (can't recall who) gave the cryptic response: "We though about that, but we decided to go in a different direction."--T smitts 05:34, 2 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- I'd say that Neral had the Romulan Aging disease and while there's a cure for Humans and Vulcans to return them to their previous age, the cure doesn't work so well Romulans, thus only stopping the againg and taking it back less.
- It's also possible that he might have had to travel long distances quickly enough, but without Warp speed, in a bubble, so to say — Thus, while the rest of the universe kept the same timeline, his vessel of transport was in a bubble, where time progressed considerably faster. I remember someone wrote about this concept in a series, which depicted the travels of a few groups of ancient Vulcans from Vulcan to their new world after Surak appeared in the wider picture and they didn't like his views.
- Another possibility is that Neral travelled to a region of space, where time progresses faster. This can be seen in "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi", where Luke Skywalker travels back to Dagobah and Yoda has aged a century and then passes away, while a few years back, Yoda was considerably less aged when training the young Skywalker.
- Yet another possibility is that there were two Nerals, one young and another old. Maybe father and son. Maybe two differnet people, who just happened to have the same surnames. Or maybe something in-between.
