For anyone reading the background comments on the spelling of this characters name, I think the ultimate deciding factor on which link is the redirect and which is the main page, would be what it is spelled as in the end credits. I, however, do not own the TOS Season 2 DVD to confirm which spelling is used and would very much appreciate it if someone who has that DVD could check it and move the page to the spelling used in the end cridets, and as well, add that as a note in addition to what I have already written. - The End Credits say "Merik", so I moved the article and edited the article accordingly. Kennelly 23:45, 11 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Merrick: merge Edit
The information on the alternate spelling of R.M. Merik in different sources like the Concordance and Encyclopedia is definitely worth having on MA, but it should be a background note in the main article, not its own article. A redirect should still be kept, since someone with one of those books could look up with the alternative spelling. --OuroborosCobra talk 06:31, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
- There is no redirect at this time. But that is all that is needed. I am not capable of making a redirect, so i created this article for those who quite understandably search "Merrick".
- But the info in the article is mostly from the "Merik" article (Background section) anyway. No need to merge. – The preceding unsigned comment was added by 18.104.22.168 (talk).
- Actually, you could have created a redirect in the first place (anyone can create them: #redirect [[R.M. Merik]]) rather than a second article on the same subject. Otherwise, yes, it should be merged, again, so not to have a second article on the same subject, especially if most of the article came from the other article. --Alan 09:50, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
Merik's help Edit
Why did Merik decide to help Captain Kirk? Is it because he saw how he should have been defiant or is there something else? 22.214.171.124
